Well, I have a Corn Plant (aka Dracaena Fragrans, aka Dragon Flower) that I’ve had for the longest time. And a few weeks before Thanksgiving, something amazing happened – it started to grow flowers! This is a big accomplishment for me, and I’ll explain why.

First off, THIS is a Corn Plant – mine looks kinda like that one.

I first bought it this about 8 years ago, it was on clearance at the local grocery store. The store price was about $30, but it was on sale for $5 since it was almost all black/dying. The person there said that the tree was going to die, and if I didn’t buy it, they’d just throw it out at the end of the day. I’ve always liked trying to revive plants, so I figured I’d buy it and nurse it back to health.

It was, of course, a success – since I still have that tree today, and after 8 years, the tree just started growing flowers! (Read more)

Well, simply put, my dad does a “Home-Improvement” type show on youtube (and metacafe) called “Home Tips with Jim”. It’s not your typical home-improvement type show though, as usually he has no idea what he’s doing.

I’m honestly not sure what to blog about, it may be on the subject of Artificial Life, Programming, etc. But yeah, just thought I’d post something here.
